At Bevan Design Outdoor Learning we aim, to provide high quality resources for outdoor learning and forest school.
We have experience of both forest school leadership and teaching within the foundation phase and we know how important it is to be able to easily access resources. We currently provide quality wet weather gear, a range of bags and a selection of wood products. Having started in October 2006 we will soon be expanding our product range as we aim to become your one stop shop for forest school and outdoor learning.
At Bevan Design we believe that there is no such thing as unsuitable weather just unsuitable clothing and so we provide resources that will enable your children to have learning experiences outdoors throughout the year, whatever the weather!
Outdoor Learning
Across the UK outdoor learning is becoming an essential part of the foundation stage (England) / foundation phase (Wales) curriculum and the use of forest school is growing particularly within early years and key stage 1. The foundation phase document for Wales places great emphasis on the use of the outdoors as a resource for learning and schools across the UK are developing their outdoor areas into suitable learning environments.
Forest School
Forest School is a learning and teaching initiative that provides exciting and stimulating experiences for both children and adults within a local woodland environment. Through the Forest School continuum children are offered opportunities to explore, discover and achieve, while developing confidence and self esteem, language and communication skills and personal, Social skills. Forest school is non threatening and fun and works towards the development of emotional wellbeing. Forest School is an ideal learning tool for the Foundation phase as it is a child led adult supported approach to outdoor play and learning. We are aware that many schools are now setting up their own forest school environments on site, on school grounds. We are aware of both the benefits and limitations of this and we provide resources to meet the specific needs of onsite forest schools.
